Security Guard CV for Gulf and overseas jobs
What employers in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and abroad look for
Applying for Security Guard work in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Saudi Arabia or another country? Recruitment agencies read hundreds of CVs a day, and most first search by keyword. This page shows what a Security Guard CV should say so yours is found and understood — taken from the notes our own CV writers use.
Other names for this job
Employers advertise the same work under different titles. If one of these matches what you did, use the title the job advert uses: Security Officer, Watchman, Site Security, Access Control Officer.

- Monitored and controlled access to premises ensuring only authorized personnel entered
- Conducted regular security patrols of assigned areas during shift

- Responded to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies following established protocols
- Maintained accurate security logs, visitor records, and incident reports

Skills to list on a Security Guard CV
Keywords recruiters search for
Agencies and large companies filter CVs by these words. Use the ones that are true for you, naturally, inside your experience and skills:
security · guard · CCTV · access control · patrol · surveillance · incident report · crowd control
Tools and equipment to mention
Name the machines, vehicles, tools or software you have actually used: CCTV System, Access Control System, Radio Communication, Security Scanner, Patrol Equipment.
Safety and compliance
Gulf employers take safety seriously. If you were trained in or followed any of these, say so: emergency response, fire safety, first aid, CPR, evacuation procedure.
Country-specific points
- UAE: SIRA license, DPS approved, Emirates Security trained
- Qatar: MOI security permit, GSMO certified
Only mention a licence, card or registration you actually hold.
Example lines
- Maintained zero security incidents over 18 months while managing access control for 200+ employee facility
These show the style: what you did, where, and a number if you know it. Change every figure to your own real one — a made-up number or a fake certificate can get a visa or job application rejected. We never add fake experience.
What every Gulf CV needs
- Full name as in your passport, a phone number with country code and WhatsApp, and your current location
- Nationality, date of birth, passport validity and visa status — agencies ask for these first
- Work experience newest first, with company, country and the months and years
- Languages you speak, and any driving licence or trade certificate you hold
- One or two clean pages, as a PDF, with a clear passport-style photo
